yes i am vaccinated and i'm hoping you are too,
cause if you're not vaccinated i am wondering if you
don't care about other people or don't trust old trusty science
when everything you're using and everything you're buying
has been neatly arranged for you by trusty science
just look at life expectancy a hundred years ago and all the diseases we dont have anymore

the long term effects in the future are a mystery
no scientist in her right mind would ever say

because that is an dishonest and dumb thing to say

it's a hope-and-thorough-testing-hybrid
but wait! we know the long term effects of one thing: long covid.
cars, planes, drinking, smoking, none of these are really safe
but hey thats life, look at the big picture and for once be a little bit brave

ever since covid when i go running
i run a big circle around the people i meet
more so than i should because its a statement
i guess at very least seven feet
i want to be safe and i want them to feel safer
and want to signal them all that i'm having their back
they never notice and bump into each other
and ignore me in my weird zig zag
but in recent weeks there's been a development
some fragile nature disturbing urban peace
the meadow of choice where i do my exercise
it has been conquered by a flock of geese
now i don't blame them, if i was a goose
i'd be chillin on a nice meadow too
the only thing is when they're hanging around
they do leave a shitload of poo

now i run through the grass, because i think it's best
to avoid the roads and viral contagion
no one gives a shit, except for the geese
i'm happily running through their excrement
here's one thing i've learned in this fucked up time
it's one of the saddest lessons from covid
people are backwards egomaniacs

beginning of last year, i almost didn't worry
i did not fret and did not become a loner
set my hopes for the fall, cause after all, who knew
maybe it would just all be over
but my hopes were all crushed and it's worse than before
the numbers gone up, and i worry some more
and for a long time work will be anything but steady
so i have become what i didn't wanne be
a bit of a lockdown fattie
after all what's there to do except drink, eat and drink
when you sit around all day in those t shirts that stink
and you sit, eat and drink in those shirts that are smelly
sitting, eating and drinking just won't deflate that belly
and you proclaim it a highlight when you make muffins from bananas
and you proclaim it a highlight when you wear a bandana
and you do crazy things and you do them with passion
learn to live with yourself and let that be lesson
and for a long time work will be anything but steady
so i have become what i didn't wanne be
a bit of a lockdown fattie
i exploded a belt, yes it is a true story
but the belly's okay and no reason to worry
for tis lockdown season, tis the season of zero
contact with your friends, tis the season of heroes
heroes with bellies, bellies with heroes

heroes that don't go out to party with a lot of people every day
heroes that wear their fucking mask in the supermarket, above the nose
because it's not hard to do
